Disclaimer #1: The novel is not a BL (danmei), strictly speaking."Wushuang Zhu" is part of the "Shenlan Qiyu" series. Each book has a different MC mastering over one of the 'Seven God Beads' and a main couple that consists of the Master of the Bead and their Guardian. What makes "Wushuang Zhu" special is that the 'Peerless Bead' has two Masters (Fa Hua and Lan Ge) and their Guardian is not their love interest.TJSS intentionally wrote them as the main pair in the first book with a generous amount of BL elements sprinkled throughout the story and he's known to stick with the main pairing from start to finish in this series, so do with that information what you will.He left their relationship ambiguous and free to be interpreted by the readers, but I personally would not start the novel expecting to see anything romantic between them. That being said, their relationship is genuinely very lovely and fun to read even with the lack of romance, and there’s no shortage of sweet scenes between them. So if that's your cup of tea, then you've come to the right place!Disclaimer #2: The Donghua made some notable changes (due to time constraint, censorship and artistic direction), but the heart of the story and the nature of their relationship are still the same.
